 Born in Mumbai, India on June 25, 1978, Aftab Shivdasani began his film career as a child artiste in films like Mr. India, Shahenshah, Chalbaaz, and Awwal Number. After graduating from college, Aftab earned his first major role as a lead actor in Ram Gopal Varma’s Mast in 2000, for which he won the Best Newcomer Screen and Zee Cine Awards. In 2002, Aftab was also nominated in the Best Actor in a Negative Role category for all the major film awards, for the film Kasoor. Since that time Aftab has essayed a wide range of notable roles in films like Masti, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Hungama, Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche, Awara Paagal Deewana, Darna Mana Hai, Koi Aap Sa, Ankahee, Darwaza Bandh Rakho, and most recently Red - The Dark Side, and Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie.
Aftab’s filmography clearly shows his versatility as an actor who can perform in various genres of film from comedies, to drama, to romance as well as horror and suspense. Even though Aftab seems to have already done it all, he has just begun. In the coming months we can look forward to seeing him in highly-anticipated films like Speed and De Taali.
