The Miss India-Canada event is one of the most anticipated and well known in the South Asian community. With over 20 years of innovation, Canada-India Beauty Quest Inc., has continued to transform the Miss India-Canada event into a unique evening of glamour and style that allows an affluent South Asian community to come together to celebrate their cultural heritage. No other event provides a night of entertainment where friends, family and colleagues can come together dressed in their best, to support the community as a whole while celebrating what makes them uniquely Indo-Canadian. Similarly there is no other event that extends the opportunity to sponsors and advertisers to implement marketing initiatives directly to this niche demographic. The Miss India-Canada event is truly a platform like no other offering young South Asian women the ability to achieve their personal, professional and philanthropic goals by carrying a credible title synonymous with 19 years of continued success. The winner will demonstrate her Indo-Canadian heritage on stage and be judged on Indian dress, talent and public speaking. The event is regularly graced by top Bollywood and Hollywood personalities, adding a touch of stardust to the evening while bringing in phenomenal media attention. Past years include celebrities like Dev Anand, Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon and Karen David. Aftab Shivdasani stirred up quite a buzz a few summers ago when helped facilitate in the crowning. Our winners strengthen the credibility of the title, and have used it to launch extraordinary careers both in Canada and India. Former winners, such as Kamal Sidhu (1991), Ruby Bhatia (1993), Gita Bali (1994), Rishma Malik (1996), Komila (Kim) Jagtiani (1999), and Neelam Verma (2001) have moved on to become movie actress/model, television star, model, entertainment host for City TV, video jockey and host for the travel show on the Discovery Channel, and the first South Asian to represent Miss Canadian Universe, respectively. The reigning Miss India-Canada has completed a dual specialization Bachelors of physical therapy and M.D. in alternative medicines. As the current title holder, she has donated her time to help underprivileged children in India and charitable organizations in Canada. The consistent support and positive feedback from the community coupled with the phenomenal support of South Asian and corporate sponsors, ensures that the Miss India-Canada event continues to out do itself with sold out events year after year. |
